Send photos and videos without compression
Chat apps make photos and videos smaller before sending. PairOnce sends the file itself: open paironce.com on both devices, connect with the QR code, tap Choose files, and the other side taps Accept.
Nothing is recompressed: the file arrives byte for byte and is checked on arrival. Computers with Chrome, Edge or Firefox, Android phones and iPhones with iOS 26 or later take up to 2 GB per file.
Both devices must be open at the same time. For someone who will look later, a chat app sending the file as a document fits better.
Step by step
- Open PairOnce on both devices. Go to paironce.com in any current browser, on a phone or a computer.
- Connect. Scan the QR code with the other device’s camera, or type the six-digit code. Not in the same room? Tap Copy invite link and send the link any way you like. Check the safety code and tap Approve device. A page opened from a QR code or link asks you to confirm first: tap Connect.
- Choose the photos and videos. Tap Choose files and pick them from the gallery or files. Keep both screens on until they have arrived.
- Accept and save. The other device taps Accept, then Save. On an iPhone, Share and Save Image puts a photo straight into Photos.
Keeping quality inside WhatsApp
A normal WhatsApp photo is reduced in size. The HD option keeps more detail but is still compressed. To send the untouched file, attach it as a Document instead of as a photo; it then shows as a file rather than a picture in the chat. Telegram has the same choice: send as a file.
Videos are compressed too, and long ones are cut or refused, so a file transfer is the dependable way for clips you want to edit or keep.
Limits, and when this is not the right tool
- A file can be up to 2 GB over a direct connection when the receiving browser saves straight to disk (Chrome or Edge on a computer or Android, Firefox on a computer, Safari on iOS 26 or later). Other browsers take up to 50 MB per file and hold 100 MB of received files at a time.
- Files over 2 GB need PairOnce Pro on one of the two devices. Then a file can be up to 10 GB, received the same way, and the relay carries 5 GB a month.
- When the two devices cannot reach each other directly, an encrypted relay carries the data. Each device can send and receive 200 MB a month that way, counted together; a direct connection has no monthly limit.
- Both pages must stay open until everything has arrived: keep the phone’s screen on and the browser in front.
- PairOnce moves things between two devices that are open at the same time. It is not cloud storage: nothing waits on a server for later.
Other ways to do it
- WhatsApp as a document. Keeps the original file and reaches someone far away; the photo shows as a file, not in the chat.
- A cloud link (Google Drive, iCloud, OneDrive). Good when the other person downloads later; the files go through the cloud and large ones take time to upload.
- AirDrop or Quick Share. Full quality between nearby devices, mostly within the same brand of phone or computer.
- Email. Keeps originals, but attachments are limited to about 25 MB.
Common questions
Does PairOnce compress photos or videos?
No. It sends the file as it is and checks it on arrival. What you choose is what arrives.
Can I send to a friend’s phone?
Yes, when both of you have paironce.com open. They see each file first and accept or decline it.
Do the files go through a server?
No. They go straight between the two browsers. If a network blocks that, an encrypted relay passes them on without being able to read them, with 200 MB a month per device.
